Charles Perry

Long track record in sustainability and climate change working to transform organisations, Charles is also Associate of Forum for the Future, on the Advisory Board of BASE and an Associate of Al Gore’s The Climate Project. His senior management experience includes being Managing Director of Good Energy, Special Advisor to GreenOrder and Director of BP Green Energy.

Charles was selected and trained by Al Gore to present "An Inconvenient Truth", appointed a Judge for the Morgan Stanley Great Britons Awards and Adviser to David Cameron's Quality of Life Policy Review on Climate Change. His career in sustainability began as PR Manager of BSI, where he launched ISO 14000, moving to Senior Consultant at URS Dames & Moore and then to BP to roll out "beyond petroleum" and develop BP Ultimate "more performance, less pollution", before becoming Director of BP Green Energy. Charles has a BA from Brown University and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.

Mark Griffiths

Expert in linking technology, strategy and sustainability with 15 years developing innovative products & services in multinationals & start-ups. Mark sits on the Practice and Profession Committee of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and is an affiliate of MBDC (Cradle to Cradle). Previously owner and Managing Director of EcoBuilding Systems, a consultancy focussed on green, intelligent buildings.

Prior experience includes Business Development Director at Dimension Data Plc, Senior Consultant at new product development consultancy and core member of Internet start-up. Mark started his career at Procter & Gamble working in South Africa and Italy. Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and an MSc from Reading University’s School of Construction Management & Engineering.

Craig Peters

Expert in leading change with 20 years diverse operational experience transforming behaviours and improving business performance. Previously Head of Risk and Sustainability at Corven, Craig has an excellent track record in designing, motivating and managing cultural change programmes to deliver sustainable results in high-pressure, blue chip corporations, including Thames Water, Centrica, National Grid, Anglo American and Rolls Royce. Earlier, at Capgemini, he was Senior Transformational Consultant focused on the Energy and Natural Resources sectors.

Craig started his career working as an Engineer in a mining company before becoming Product Manager in an electronics company. He has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, is a member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institute of Management, and has a BSc and MSc (Water and Wastewater) from the University of Cape Town.

Jono Adams

Jono is a specialist sustainability adviser with over 10 years experience driving change in both the private and public sectors. Previously, as Manager of environmental due diligence and climate change services at KPMG, he advised a wide range of clients from Anglo American and Toshiba to the Civil Aviation Authority and the Conservative Party. Jono has a strong international orientation having worked extensively in Europe, Australia and South America.

Jono started out as a change management consultant for Airbus and GKN before becoming a contaminated land and climate change consultant at ENVIRON. Jono is a member of IEMA and holds a degree in Environmental Science from Nottingham University.

Sarah Vernon

Sarah oversees all aspects of administration; providing support to the partners and promoting sustainable practices. After University, Sarah taught English in Japan for two years before completing her MSc, focusing her thesis on sustainability and the issue of materiality. She then interned with Forum for the Future before joining the SecondNature team in April 2009.

Sarah has a BA in Japanese and French from the University of Stirling and was awarded a Distinction for her MSc in International Business and Management from Bradford School of Management.

Julia Hailes

Julia is a leading opinion former, author, adviser and speaker on social, environmental and ethical issues. She has written nine books, including The Green Consumer Guide, which sold over 1 million copies worldwide and The New Green Consumer Guide, which was published in 2007. In 1987 she co-founded SustainAbility, the pioneering think tank and consultancy which has become internationally renowned. Current or recent clients include Procter & Gamble, British Gas, McDonalds, Marks & Spencer, Ecotricity and Organix Baby Foods. She is a Trustee of Waste Watch and sits on the Food Ethics Council. In 1989 Julia was elected to the UN `Global 500 Roll of Honour' for her 'outstanding environmental achievements' and in 1999 she was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours List.

Konstantin von Unger

Konstantin von Unger is co-founder and partner at Blue Corporate Finance, an M&A advisory business serving SME clients. As a non-executive director he also serves on the board of Henkel, a leading Fortune 500 company with a reputation as a global leader in sustainability.

Previously, Konstantin was co-founder and head of business development at the internet start-up, Sportal Ltd, having cut his teeth as a management consultant at Bain & Co and a corporate financier at Lazard Brothers. Konstantin completed his MBA at London Business School and his BA (Hons) at Brown University.

Alastair Vere Nicoll

Alastair is a partner and co-founder of Berkeley Energy, a private equity fund manager, specialising in making renewable energy infrastructure investments in developing countries. Berkeley Energy manages the Renewable Energy Asia Fund. Prior to that Alastair was a solicitor at leading international law firm Freshfields, in their Private Equity team, where he specialised in infrastructure deals in the renewable energy and water sectors. Alastair has acted for many of the UK's leading infrastructure and buy-out houses including Infracapital Partners, 3i Infrastructure Fund, Apax and Cinven. He also designed and wrote the business module for the Legal Practice Course taught to trainee solicitors and was a senior lecturer to post-graduates on private equity, debt finance and business law at BPP Professional Education.

In 2004, Alastair was the instigator and member of a four man team that accomplished the first traverse (and first kite surf ski traverse) of the Antarctic continent through the Trans-Antarctic Mountains to the South Pole in the footsteps of Roald Amundsen. He has written a book about the experience, Riding the Ice Wind. Alastair has a first class BA from Oxford University where he was awarded an undergraduate scholarship.

Nicholas Russell

Nicholas Russell is an expert at developing strategies and business models, and managing programmes for multinationals, SMEs, and start-ups. Previous clients include ArjoWiggins, Barclays, HP, LVMH, Sindicatum Sustainable Resources, Sinopoly Battery, Tesco, Toyota, Unilever, and WSP Group. Nicholas also has specialist experience in launching brands and foreign market-entry.

Nicholas has been involved with environmental and social initiatives in China, Europe, India, and the United States.  As an executive member of the Oxford Business Alumni, he hosts events ranging from private equity and renewable energy to building playgrounds.

Nicholas started his career with award-winning World Of Wonder Productions in Los Angeles, before joining renowned luxury strategy atelier Agenda Inc. in San Francisco. He holds an MBA from the University of Oxford, and a BA in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles.

Ray Noble

Ray is a Solar Trade Association (STA) solar energy specialist and a UK Government Renewables Advisory Board Member. He is the solar photovoltaic specialist for the REA and also sits on the MCS Steering group (covering all renewable technologies), and MCS PV and Solar Thermal working groups. Ray was previously Building Engineering Group Director at Arup followed by UK Manager at BP Solar developing and demonstrating BP Solar products on buildings across Europe. He was Commercial Manager for BP Green Energy, which was later rebranded BP Alternative Energy.

Ray’s achievements include: creating the BP Solar/Romag partnership in order to develop and manufacture BIPV products in the UK; delivering BP Solar Service Station roll out program of Solar PV across Europe; and developing strategies for a number of large Companies/ Projects in UK and Europe. Ray regularly speaks at industry events, acts as an ambassador for the Renewable Industry and knows many of the key players in Renewable Technologies.

Benjamin Kott

Benjamin has a wide range of experiences in the renewable energy and sustainability sectors, in addition to a strong technical and management consulting background.

He is currently working on an innovative web-based platform that helps organisations to reduce their energy and resource consumption and save costs.

Previously, Benjamin worked for Google where he headed up Clean Energy Advocacy and Green Business Operations for Europe (EMEA) over a period of four years. He sourced and negotiated Google's investment in a 20MW solar PV plant in Germany, initiated and led Google's largest climate change campaign to date for COP15 in 2009, and implemented a range of internal efficiency measures in several global offices.

Prior to this, Benjamin worked as European Strategy Manger at Google and as Engagement Manager with Booz & Co in Italy.

Benjamin holds a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering from Munich Technical University, and an MBA from INSEAD.

David Roberts

David is an independent adviser whose background is in international relations, political risk and sustainable business. A senior British diplomat for more than three decades, he speaks several languages and has worked extensively on global social and environmental issues, including corruption and human rights.  He was deputy ambassador in Chile and directed the UK’s trade and investment promotion effort in Switzerland.  He also headed the Foreign Office department responsible for sustainable development and relations with business, and handled a constitutional crisis in one of the UK’s Caribbean territories.

Directing his own small consultancy, Dagero Ltd, he has worked for several years for 3i Group plc, Europe’s largest private equity company, leading a pioneering project on corporate responsibility. He also works for Transparency International and the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies.

Stephen Tindale

Stephen is an Associate Fellow at the Centre for European Reform, working mainly on energy and climate policy but also on the EU budget.

He also runs the website Climate Answers, which tries to present information on climate issues in an accessible way, and to identify what should be supported rather than simply what should be opposed, as most NGOs do.

He is co-author, with Prashant Vaze, of the book "Repowering communities: small scale solutions to large scale problems" (Earthscan, June 2011), about the role that local government, co-operatives and community organisations play on energy supply and energy efficiency in Europe and North America.

Previous roles have included: Head of Communications and Public Affairs for RWE npower renewables; Executive Director of Greenpeace UK and Chairman of the Greenpeace European Unit; adviser to Environment Minister Michael Meacher; founder of IPPR Environment Group; adviser to Shadow Environment Secretary Chris Smith, diplomat at UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Robin Lane

Robin is an experienced strategy consultant with strong expertise and focus on sustainability and the low carbon and cleantech sectors. He has worked with and supported a number of public and private sector organisations including the Carbon Trust, regional development agencies and major corporates as they respond to the challenges of embracing and embedding sustainability in areas as diverse as programme and strategy development, opportunity and new proposition development, and employee engagement and behaviour change.

He also has an interest in the technology challenges presented by the transition to a more sustainable future, and has worked with a number of early stage fast growth clean technology companies in areas such as capital raising, strategy development and growth, and has developed a business and financial case for a new cleantech incubator and business centre. He is a qualified solicitor, and holds an MBA from Imperial Business School, and an LL.M. from University College London.

Hamish Jacobs

Hamish is an experienced strategy consultant with a proven track record in ensuring that a sustainability agenda delivers on the triple bottom line. He is an expert in generating a vision and then turning it into a practical, creative and tactical execution plan.

Hamish has 16 years of experience working in the Greater China Market in both the Corporate and start up environments. In his previous role as Director of Sustainability for Coca-Cola China Industries Ltd he was instrumental in instigating, not only the behavioral change needed, but also in testing, validating and adopting new technologies to ensure stretch targets were met in the areas of water usage, energy reduction and packaging reduction.

Hamish is a certified presenter of the Al Gore “An Inconvenient Truth” presentation and holds a BSc from Bristol University and an MA from the CASS business School.

Robert Webb

Robert Webb is an experienced energy-engineer and entrepreneur with an illustrious track record in initiating and driving multidisciplinary technical R+D projects in energy use in the built environment. He has designed low-carbon energy systems for buildings and urban areas for over 20 years, and has also created an innovative distributed wind energy business.
